Material information

Ingredients for a fried burger (with label)
  • Ground beef We tried these fryer burgers with lean ground beef and turkey and both were great. It's possible that other types of ground beef will work too! If you are using ground turkey, avoid using extra lean or shredded turkey breast as it can obtain drier.
  • Egg- Eggs are needed for the burger to stick together; We haven't tested the hurricane version of this recipe, but if you do we'd appreciate your leaving us a comment below!
  • Breadcrumbs helps bind meat and shape meatballs; Ground beef requires less breadcrumbs than ground turkey. Gluten-free breadcrumbs should work just fine.

Step by step instructions step

Air fryer burger patty mix in bowl with spatula

1. Mixture Place the ground beef, garlic, Worcestershire, salt, and egg in a bowl. When fully mixed, add the breadcrumbs and mix until they are evenly integrated.

NOTE- over-mixing can result in dense meatballs; Gently fold the mixture or mix with your hands.

2. Shape patties- Divide the mixture into four parts and take ¼ of the mixture in the palm of your hand. Shape into a round flat cake 3-4 inches in diameter that is the same thickness all over. Do not exceed 1 inch in thickness. Repeat until you have four patties.

NOTE- Pressing a depression in the middle of the burger will avoid the burgers from swelling in the middle (which will help them cook evenly)

3. Cooking Preheat the deep fryer for at least 5 minutes, then place the hamburger patties in the basket. Bake for 6 minutes, then turn and cook for another 3 minutes. Make sure the internal temperature has reached 160 ° F before removing it from the fryer.

NOTE- we tested these basket style Airfryer burgers Cosori XL hot air fryer and oven type Instant Pot Vortex hot air fryer, and found that the cook times were pretty similar in both. If you're using an oven deep fryer, use the bottom rail.
