Content notes

Ingredients for Instant Pot Spaghetti (with labels)
  • Ground beefI recommend using lean ground beef or turkey so you don't have to drain the oil before adding the sauce. I have also successfully used plant-based ground beef cuts.
  • spaghetti– You can use spaghetti, linguine, spaghetti or your favorite shape of pasta. Below I give tips on how to adapt to different shapes.
  • Marinara Grab your favorite brand. You need a 650 ml glass
  • Parmesan cheese– for extra flavor; I recommend freshly ground parmesan.

Step by step instructions

Be careful in the order in which the ingredients are added as it is important to avoid the dreaded burn-in warning in your instant pot.

sauteed beef in the finished pot

1.Sautéed beef + spices – Select the Saute function of your Instant Pot. Add ground beef, basil, and salt to the stainless steel portion of your instant pot. Cook for 5-7 minutes, chop the beef with a spatula and mix often. The beef is cooked when it is no longer pink.

If you used a thicker ground beef mixture, you should drain the extra fat.

5. Cooking Place the lid on your pressure cooker, set the steam release lever to the sealed position and cook under pressure for 6 minutes. When the cooking process is complete, quickly relieve the pressure: carefully move the steam release lever to the vent position to relieve the pressure.

Remove the Instant Pot lid – the noodles look like soup at first, but when it cools everything thickens.

FAQ

Which Instant Pot Model Can I Use?

This recipe is 6 liter instant pot and a 8 liter instant pot and it works great for both; You'll need to cut the recipe to fit the mini.

Can I use a different type of pasta?

Yes! I used spaghetti and fusili. Take your time on the wrap (use it longer if there is a gap between them), cut in half and add a minute.

Example: For Fusili, the package said 11-12 minutes. I cut 12 in half to make 6 and then added a minute. It worked perfectly for 7 minutes at high pressure with a fast depressurization!

Can i do this vegan?

Yes! I tested it with vegetable beef crumbs. Be careful as it sticks to the pan easily. So, before you cook it under pressure, clean the pan completely.

You can also replace parmesan with nutritional yeast.

How do I avoid the burn alarm?

You MUST scan the bottom of your instant pot as you add water. Finally, you should add the marinade sauce. Tomato products are famous for their burn warning. If you follow these two steps, you shouldn't obtain a burn warning.

1- You can trade against ground turkey or plant-based crumbs. If you're using a more oily mixture, you'll need to drain the oil before adding the water to the saucepan.
You can trade it in for your favorite pasta, but whole wheat, chickpeas, or alternative pasta haven't been tested. To commute the pasta shapes, put half the cooking time on the package and add a minute.
