February is definitely my favorite month! I cognize people are excited about other holidays … but to me, Valentine's Day is literally! I've loved this since I was a kid and it blows my heart to see all the lovely pinks and reds in the stores this time of year.

I love that Valentine's Day is the great time to show my small family how much I love them. I always go out with a great Valentine's Day breakfast and French toast, German pancake, crepe… They call it. Then I abandon gifts and treats on every plate of my family members. This year, I'm definitely going to be making these simple chocolate strawberries for the large day!

If you've never made chocolate-coated strawberries before, you can be sure that these are surprisingly simple and simple to make. But it is totally impressive! Strawberry and chocolate are always a delicious combination and I love to bite the difficult chocolate shell and the juicy fruits on the bottom. YUM!

What is the top chocolate to melt?

It is important that you use Quality chocolate! To be honest, it makes all the difference. Below are some of my favorites that I have used in the past. Everyone worked great and the dipped strawberries turned out great!

  • Pound Plus Bars from Trader Joe & # 39; s
  • Ghirardelli bars
  • Ghirardelli melting wafers

I like this Melt my chocolate dip in the microwave. It's not only simple, it's fast too! I've found it is top to microwave at 50% power every 30 seconds, stirring occasionally. Then when it's almost melted you can take it out of the microwave and stir until it melts completely. This prevents burns and gives you the smooth and creamy texture that is great for dipping. If available, you can also melt it in double chicken.

How to make chocolate covered strawberries

  1. MELT. Place the chocolate in a microwaveable bowl and melt it every 30 seconds on 50% power (stirring occasionally). When it's almost melted, take it out of the microwave and blend until smooth.
  2. BOTTOM. Dip each strawberry in chocolate and flip it over to cover all sides. Lift the chocolate and drain it for a second. Then place them on a lined baking sheet. Place in the refrigerator for 5-10 minutes until it hardens.
  3. DECORATE. For drizzle, melt the drizzle the same way you melt your dip chocolate. Pour it into a piping bag (or zipper bag) and cut a small piece off the end. Take the strawberries out of the refrigerator and run them back and forth over the strawberries. To coat the chocolate chips or nuts, sprinkle the coating on the chocolate immediately after dipping them. It hardens quickly so make sure you act quickly! Then place on a baking sheet to dry.

Tips and Tricks

Over the years I've learned a few tricks of the trade by doing these:

  1. Hard strawberries. Use ripe, firm strawberries. If they commence off something mushy and soft, they won't end well. Strawberries will flow and the chocolate will likely crack and break.
  2. Let it dry completely. Make sure your strawberries are completely dry before dipping them. Even a small drop of water prevents the chocolate from sticking.
  3. Use good quality chocolate. I like to use Pound Plus bars from Trader Joe & # 39; s or Ghirardelli because I love their taste. I have used sugar melts successfully (Ghirardelli brand is my favorite) in the past. I usually use Ghirardelli melted waffles to drizzle white chocolate.
  4. Toothpick number. After dipping it, put it on parchment paper. You can use a toothpick to draw a line around them (before the chocolate dries) so that you obtain clean lines as it dries and pull them up.
  5. Application. Don't worry about making them great! As with most skills, feeling confident immersing yourself may take some practice, but I'm for rustic charm. Drizzle and coatings hide a lot of insects and it tastes great either way!

warehouse

Place in an airtight container for storage and refrigerate. I like to put a paper towel under my box and put it on top. This will help avoid additional condensation. They are kept in the refrigerator 2 or 3 days.

Decorations

There are so many fun decorations to add. Glue it with classic drizzle chocolate or top it with hazelnuts or mini chips. They taste delicious no matter how you decorate them!

  • Dip the strawberries in milk or dark chocolate and drizzle with white chocolate.
  • Dip the strawberries in white chocolate and drizzle dark chocolate over them.
  • Scatter mini chips on top.
  • Sprinkle with crushed hazelnuts.
  • Fill it with sprinkles.

NOTE: If you are sprinkling with chocolate, let the strawberries cool in the refrigerator for 5-10 minutes before adding the drizzle. Dipped strawberries won't stick if they're still wet. To add toppings such as nuts or mini chips, sprinkle immediately while the strawberries are still moist. This helps the coating to adhere. Make sure you act fast … it hardens fast!
