  • Cauliflower- You can use fresh or frozen cauliflower
  • Lemon- optional, but for more flavor we squeeze fresh lemon over steamed cauliflower
  • Parmesan cheese Optional, but for extra flavor, we sprinkle freshly grated Parmesan cheese over the cauliflower before serving.

Step by step instructions

1- Prepare the cauliflower- Start by washing the cauliflower, then chop it into 1.5 to 2 inch flowers. It is important that they are the same size so that they can be cooked evenly.

2- Prepare the finished pot. Pour 1 cup (6 liters) or 1.5 cups (8 liters) of water into the stainless steel part of your instant pot. Place the coaster over the water and a steam basket over the coaster.

3- add cauliflower- Carefully place the cauliflower in the steam basket. 4 cups in the picture above; You can add enough to fit in your pressure cooker without touching the lid.

4- cook + fast pressure relief Set your pressure cooker to cook under high pressure for 0 minutes. Once the Instant Pot has reached pressure, immediately release the pressure by quickly releasing the pressure.

5- ServingSqueeze fresh lemon juice over steamed cauliflower and sprinkle with parmesan cheese (and parsley if desired). Enjoy!

FAQ

Can I cook frozen cauliflower in the Instant Pot?

Yes you can, although a small softer than fresh. Bake for 0 minutes with rapid pressure release.

Can I cook cauliflower without a steam basket?

I strongly recommend investing in a steaming basket as the cauliflower won't sit directly in the water and obtain wet. In a pinch, you can use the trivet that comes with the Instant Pot. However, expect some flowers to fall off and become soft.

Steamed cauliflower stays in good condition and tastes good when reheated, although it doesn't smell kind.

  • Fridge- Cool completely, then store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Freeze- You can freeze steamed cauliflower, but you should wait for it to soften and release water as it thaws. Consider using it in smoothies! Allow to cool completely and then store in an airtight container, freezer bag, or reusable silicone bag. Freeze for up to 3 months.
  • Warm up Heat it in the microwave until it evaporates, or in a pan over medium heat for 5 minutes or until completely heated.
