This stunning modern home with a view of the Puget Sound, Coates Design Seattle Architects Washington is located on Bainbridge Island, an island in Kitsap County. From the outside, this 2,900 square meter house is an anonymous, almost simple, monumental facade.

It is clear that upon entering, a completely different experience is expected inside, which is warm, light and open. The 18-inch-thick concrete walls that form both sides of the outside of the building propose a touching counter in the form of warm wood and copper that stands at a slight angle to take full advantage of the view of the water and mountains of the site.

The concrete outer wall and exposed concrete in the house serve as a thermal mass, which reduces energy costs by naturally cooling the house in summer and maintaining the temperature in winter. The length and width of this house is approximately 40 ″ x40 ″.

Each room has been carefully designed to enjoy the view, provide comfort to residents and have an attractive style. If there is only a small buildable area on the site, the area occupied by the building is maximized by using the vertical area.

What we love: The choice of material palette created a breathtaking appearance against the calm background of Puget Sound. Inside, large windows propose fabulous views and fill the living rooms with natural light. We especially love open living spaces that are warm and inviting and ideal for family life and entertainment.
