Montauk House is a modern home in Montauk, New York, east of the Hamptons. In many ways, it's contemporary and not just from the point of view. Desai Chia architecture He designed this house with solar energy, open concrete and fire-resistant charred wood. The minimalist interior design combines with outdoor terraces surrounded by lovely views of nature.

Designed for a family with two young children, this house has two floors and a cellar. Upstairs are the living / dining area and the kitchen, two masterpieces, a dust room and a master bedroom. On the ground floor there is a family room, three bedrooms, a bathroom and a garage for 1 car. Small area on the corner of two quiet streets; A large, existing oak in the front garden provides shade and privacy during the summer.

It is designed to help interact with the family and facilitate the flow of home, indoor and outdoor activities, as well as clear line of sight throughout the home. Family activities can unfold on the three terraces. One of them is the garden terrace, which connects the family room with the view. A second reading terrace is shared with the work of the parents. The third "cable car terrace" includes living / dining areas and a kitchen. Covered by a cantilevered roof, the family can live and eat outdoors, doubling the size of living / dining areas in summer.

The facade of the house is a combination of open concrete and Shou Sugi blanks, a wooden rain curtain that allows concrete to be inhaled. Shou sugi ban is a traditional Japanese method of burning wood surfaces to make them rot and stain resistant. Its wood color and texture express an iconic, vivid and modern form, evoking local Montauk architecture. The wood framed the living rooms upstairs and went down the ladder to the family room and wrapped around the inside.

Grain wood floors and a boyunca zipper Boyunca along the spine of the house reinforce the robust aesthetics of the home. All household materials have been selected to simplify the care and durability of an active family (the way in which each material contributes to the structural design).

Design seamlessly combines several sustainable design strategies. The roof of the house hides a large photovoltaic system, which provides enough electricity for the entire house. To reduce the use of air conditioning, we have installed windows and the central staircase to utilize the natural ventilation provided by the prevailing winds. The shade of the large ceiling and the "Gateway" terrace also helps reduce sun exposure on both floors.
